Ever met a person that had chronic bad breath? Everyone’s been friends with or known a person that let out smelly breath every time they opened their mouth.
And if that person is you then finding the causes of your badbreath becomes a priority.
There are certain medical conditions, diets, drugs or habits that can cause bad breath and if you already practice good oral hygiene then you should investigate these other causes of halitosis to get the right remedy.
Diet
Food, drinks, alcohol and even sugar may or may not be the causes of your foul breath. Too much protein, sugar and even alcohol can all remain on your breath for hours if not days and if these things are constantly in your diet then you might consider changing your diet even temporarily to find the main culprit.
It’s possible to counteract the smell lingering in your mouth with foods such parsley, lettuce or avocado. All three are known to be great breath fresheners. There are of course other bad breath products such as breath fresheners and mints but these only mask the odor for a short time.
And you should consider the fact that it may not be food laced with garlic that’s giving you a bad breath problem but the meal itself, especially if it hasn’t been prepared in a hygienic way.
Food improperly cleaned or cooked can lead to bad breath. Take care not only with what you eat but how it’s prepared because there could be consequences later.
Oral Habits
Brushing your teeth and around your gums and flossing between your teeth thoroughly on a daily basis is a very important part of curing the main causes of smelly breath.
Make sure you methodically clean your mouth, remove excess food particles around the teeth or gums and any stale food particles on the tongue.
The mouth is a warm, wet place that bacteria thrive in. Your breath will smell if old food particles are left in your mouth and between your teeth to multiply so good cleaning habits are important.
Not brushing and flossing properly, or regularly, are the biggest causes of bad breath. If you don’t take care it could become a more serious problem that can be avoided today.
In Conclusion
There are many causes of badbreath and hallitosis and as long as you don’t have a medical condition causing the bad breath then changing your diet or bad habits could get rid of your bad breath quickly and easily.
Don’t address these few simple rules every day and you could be facing more serious health repercussions down the track which will make having chronic bad breath look tame.
If you think your smelly breath is not diet related and you clean your teeth regularly, talk to your doctor as soon as possible.
