Bad breath. Need immediate help!?

I’m 16, and have had halitosis for 3 years. I have already used a tongue cleaner, as recommended by a dentist, changed my mouthwash to something without alcohol to avoid dry mouth, again recommended to me by my dentist, and brush my teeth more than 4 times a day. My dentist keeps avoiding my questions. What could it be that is causing this fowl odour? I just went to the dentist and he fixed a cavity I had, and told me my teeth were perfect. I did get my tonsils removed, but I’m not sure if that’s a viable factor.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

bad breath can come from many different sources. And the smell will be different.. If eat to little for example, you’ll get a bad breath coz your body is using up the proteins in your muscles and well, it practically is the smell of your muscles vanishing..

It may also be if you are sick and well have a cough or something like that. I definetely don’t think it has to do with your teeth.. You probably should go see a doctor if you can’t figure out the cause..

It’s important since you actually may have some illness, I mean who knows? ^^ Hope you’ll be able to fix it soon though..

Could this be halitosis?

I brush my teeth. I gargle. I eat a mint. I chew gum. But 10 minutes after I spit out the gum, my breath naturally smells. Could this be halitosis? Something wrong/bad with my tonsils as my friend suggested? Does anyone have the fix?

In most cases (85-90%), bad breath originates in the mouth itself.[2] The intensity of bad breath differs during the day, as a function of oral dryness, (which may be due to stress or fasting), eating certain foods (such as garlic, onions, meat, fish and cheese), obesity, smoking and alcohol consumption.[3][4] Because the mouth is dry and inactive during the night, the odor is usually worse upon awakening (“morning breath”). Bad breath may be transient, often disappearing following eating, brushing one’s teeth, flossing, and rinsing with specialised mouthwash
