I did not realize, until I did a search on the internet, how many bad breath products there are on the market. That tells me that bad breath is a big problem for people, and that there is no one remedy that works for everyone. If that were true there would not be such a range of products treating the bad breath problem.

The tongue scraper. This is the first product I came across in my search. It was not first because it is the most important item in the fight against bad breath, rather it is the first result which showed up in the search engine results. The product I looked at is very similar to my potato peeler. When you think about it, the process of scraping the surface of the tongue is similar to that of peeling a potato. The action is the same. The tongue cleaner I looked at was inexpensive and safe to use for children and adults.

Next I came across a tongue gel, which as the name implies is a gel which, when applied to the tongue, loosens the sticky plaque, and aims to make the breath smell fresher. I would guess that if your breath feels sweeter and fresher after using such a product, then it must be doing something positive to prevent bad breath.

Dietary supplements are something I have not tried but which are available to buy. A quick look at the ingredients tells me they are comprised mainly of a combination of oils of various kinds. It looks like an alternative for those who do not want to chew parsley, for instance, after a meal. Taking something in capsule form is another way of fighting a smelly breath.

And for those who are partial to gadgets, there is such a thing as a bad breath odour tester which checks the quality of your breath in a short space of time. You do not have to spend much time waiting for the test results either, or be in any doubt about what they mean. A series of cartoon faces on an LCD tells the story for you.
