can I take prozac while nursing or during pregnancy?

With my first baby i did not take antidepressants it got really bad. with second I was on celexa during pregnancy my baby did not breath when she was born plus went thru withdrawel but i nursed no problem. Now Im 2 months along and just got switched to Prozac I have good doctors and believe they know that prozac is the right one for me they might change it again after birth for nursing I trust them.

Generally No, antidepressants are something we don’t want pregnant woman to be on. But, if you “need” it, then what causes more harm. The medication with unknown side effects to the fetus or a psychologically “off” mother? That is the question everyone is trying to answer.

Has pregnancy made anyone else’s body smell funny? Is it hormones?

This is going to sound a little gross (please excuse my frankness) but since becoming pregnant, my skin smells awful…like bad breath! In addition, my crotch has a strange odor- I can smell it the second I get undressed or use the bathroom. Is this something normal that nobody talks about, or do I have a problem? I know that bad smells down there usually indicate an infection, but I don’t have any other symptom, and this smell is like nothing I’ve ever experienced before. Also, the skin thing is weird. I don’t smell like myself, and when I wipe my face down with a cotton ball, it stinks like poopy bad breath! I shower daily! What gives??? Should I just chalk this up to hormones?

With my first pregnancy, whenever there was a nearby restaurant or fast food place or someone cooked meat, I could smell one very strange smell. That smell would make me throw up even though I didn’t have anything in my stomach. I didn’t cook at home or let my husband cooked because I would smell that one smell. I would avoid going to people houses because I was afraid of that smell. I didn’t eat meat for the first 8 months of my pregnancy. After my baby was born, I can’t smell that one strange smell anymore and I can eat meat again.

I think you’re in the same situation like I was. It’s just that you’re sensitive to a different smell than I was. I think you need to check with your doctor about the smell down there to be sure you’re ok but other than that I don’t think you have to worry…you just have to deal with it for a while.
