is there medicinal bad breath?
ok so first of all my breath is Really bad and ive been trying everything i can to get rid of it.
Every morning and night i scrap my tongue with a tongue scraper, then i floss, then i brish my teeth, and finally end with mouthwash.
I do this and then 30 minutes after i regain this white layer of stuff on my tongue and i can scrape it off with my teeth but it will come back within seconds. Also in the back of my tongue i have these bumps, i dont know if that means anything.
Can anyone help
Hi Miguel. There are a few things that might be happening here. First off, you should consult a physician to make sure that those “bumps” aren’t warning signs of a more serious condition. Don’t go into a panic about it, but getting a full medical exam might give you some answers. There are conditions that will cause bad breath that originate inside the liver or kidneys and a few of them could also result in bumps on the tongue.
There is also a good chance that your daily oral care routine might be contributing to your problem, not solving it. Bad breath is caused by sulfur emissions from anaerobic bacteria that thrive in your mouth when it becomes dry because saliva isn’t being produced at the proper level. If your mouthwash has alcohol in it, you are only masking bad breath for a few minutes by using it. Alcohol dries out the mouth and helps to create an ideal environment for anaerobic bacteria.
Look for oxygenating toothpaste and mouthwashes if you want to eliminate your bad breath problem. You may also have what is known as a “geographic tongue”, a tongue that has multiple grooves and fissures in it. These are harder to clean, but keep at it and change your mouthwash and toothpaste. When brushing, coat your tongue with toothpaste first and let it sit while you brush normally. Then rinse it off when you rinse the rest of your mouth. For best results, use an oxygenated oral rinse. That, along with the other steps outlined here, should solve the problem.

Terrible Halitosis that wont go away with tongue scraping?
I’ve recently become plagued with terrible bad breath. I have a simple plastic tongue scraper, and it doesn’t seem to be orking well. My breath is really rank, and it’s very annoying. What else can I try, other than going to a dentist?
Bad breath can often originate from your gums rather than your tongue alone. Many times it doesn’t even originate from your mouth at all, it’s a pH issue. If mouthwash and dental materials aren’t working, OTC pills exist for it. If none of that works, a dentist is your best bet.
