Is it normal for my 5 month old puppy to have really bad breath?

He’s a Chia- Poo and recently he lost 2 teeth and the new ones are growing in. His breath smells awful… I watch him when he goes outside so I know he hasn’t eaten any poop. Could it be because he’s teething? Does anyone know if this is normal for puppies, Or should I be concerned?

Does it smell coppery? If so, it is probably blood and probably from the new teeth coming in. Certain chew toys can help with that…and he may need some teething toys. I would still check in and let the vet know…just in case there is something underlying. If it is a teething problem ,it is not what you would call “normal”, but its not uncommon.

does a dogs breath start to smell when she is teething?

my dog is starting to teeth and her breath has gotten really bad recently is it cuz she is teething or should i take her to the vet?

I would try brushing her teeth first. There are pet toothbruses and toothpaste formulated just for dogs. DON’T use human toothpaste though.
