What constitutes passive smoking?

I was discussing this with friends and I cannot find data & statistics on this. When people research passive smoking, what do they count? Only people who live in a house where people smoke? I personally find it rude that people smoke near others, even if it is outside. If you breath in smoke it’s bad, outside or inside (though perhaps worse in a bad ventilated area). What I would like to know is this: is there any data on the negative health effect of occasional passive smoking? How bad is it to sometimes be around smoking friends? To accompany friends on a cigarette break on a daily basis?

Passive smoking if its just for a very short period may not lead to lung cancer. But too much exposure can.

The Teen Drug Abuse Statistics Every Parent Should Know

Adolescent rehab programs in the US have stated that drug and alcohol abuse among adolescents is a real problem that should be confronted. One of the prominent teen rehab in Pennsylvania states that parents have a huge responsibility to ensure that their kids are not being induced by drugs.  They should not be harsh with their kids but at the same time, they shouldn’t be too lenient and maintain a watchful eye because this phase of life can be quite vulnerable and be the base of how he or she would be as an adult.

The teen drug abuse statistics are alarming to say the least; just goes to show where the future of this country is heading thanks to the callous attitude adopted by adults and the open culture existence perpetrated by the media and the Internet.  In the US, there are about 3,500 teenagers who smoke every day. Nearly 27 percent of teenagers have confessed to abusing any one drug in the year 2004.  The drug that is most abused in this age group is Marijuana. Teenagers who socialize and frequent parties are known to abuse the Club Drug ‘Ecstasy’. A survey of 10th graders four years back showed that 15 percent used Marijuana, 13 percent of them used inhalants and 6 percent used a club drug

Why do teenagers abuse drugs? According to the reports put forwarded by teen treatment centers that have examined this situation and treated many youngsters, peer pressure and lack of confidence are the biggest reasons.  When a fellow teenager boasts about taking drugs and seducing a girl in his class, or when a group of drug-struck teenagers talk about the ‘highs ‘that they get by taking drugs, an impressionable teenager develops the interest in trying it out and that’s where the trouble starts brewing

Drugs are known to have dangerous effects that can harm a person’s physical and mental development. For one, it can harm the teen’s ability to absorb information and pay attention. Teenagers who have drugs are more likely to indulge in unprotected sex and even have physical relationships with a complete stranger. Teenagers who abuse drugs are usually the ones who are getting into this bad habit from a young age and if the person does not stop his or her addiction, it can be very difficult to get rid of this problem and even when treated, there are chances of relapse when quitting the drug addiction.

Anabolic steroids cause a lot of sexual problems in both the sexes. The reproductive organs are not developed properly, men tend to become impotent, and women suffer from hair loss and clitoral enlargement. Additionally, there are other repercussions like acne, skin diseases, baldness, stunted growth, stroke, liver diseases, cancer and risk of HIV/AIDS in both sexes, given the fact that some of the drugs can make a person promiscuous in nature

Substance abuse can affect the body systems and depending on whether the body is able to process the drug or not, there have been many instances of interrupted breathing from sedatives, permanent brain damage from inhalants and heart attacks from stimulants.  Needless to say, all of these drugs can lead to death as well.   Drugs according to teen rehab centers, may be taken by teens to mask their fears and anxieties but in retrospect, they actually increase these worries after the momentary ‘high’ is lost and due to increased depression, a person can actually commit suicide, kill someone or even become a homicide victim.

MLM Statistics: the Bad, the Worse, and the Ugly

You know about these, right? The less than encouraging statistics about the MLM industry. . .? It’s too bad that the most famous MLM statistics are negative.

Some are true and some aren’t. But most hear only the negative. And that’s what they talk about. These will come up too just in case you haven’t actually seen this data. But this article will also surprise you perhaps with some positive MLM statistics, the ones that aren’t famous or talked about. . .except in circles of successful network marketers.

Let’s start out with the number one of all MLM statistics…the failure rate for network marketing is estimated to be anywhere from 97 – 99%.

Yes, that happens to be true and the reasons for it thus far are 1) those who enter the business aren’t given the right information upfront by their sponsors 2) those who enter the business cannot afford to put in the money and/or time necessary to achieve what they would like.

And just a quick clarification, you don’t necessarily need to be pouring tons of money into your network marketing business to start getting more customers and team members.

But you do need to put in consistent time and effort. It’s not necessary to put in 40 hours a week (who has that much time!), but you DO need to be consistent with the 10 hours that you put in.

The majority of people who join an MLM are told that they don’t need any skills or experience. When it doesn’t work out that way. . .they drop out (usually within the first year) and contribute to the 99% failure rate.

So let me give you a general idea of what you do need to be doing to profit in network marketing. Here are some MLM statistics from my network marketing company. These show the relationship between how many people need to be sponsored in order to get the corresponding annual salary.

Sponsor 10 people = $2,796 annual income

Sponsor 20 people = $11,223 annual income

Sponsor 40 people = $16,311 annual income

Sponsor 60 people = $22,028 annual income

Sponsor 125 people = $41,192 annual income

Sponsor 250 people = $59,074 annual income

Sponsor 375 people = $69,375 annual income

Sponsor 500 people = $105,591 annual income

Sponsor 750 people = $120,636 annual income

Sponsor 1,000 people = $235,419 annual income

Sponsor 2,500 people = $563,000 annual income

Obviously, the numbers will vary from MLM to MLM, but one thing is for sure. . .you will not become a millionaire by sponsoring 3 people.

The global MLM industry has grown by an astounding 90 percent in the last ten years.

What other industries are growing at that rate? Do you wonder why network marketing, which holds such a bad reputation, is seeing that much growth?

It’s because people are tired of working for someone else. They are tired of working harder and longer hours and getting paid less. They are sick of having no time at home with their families.

And their financial burdens prevent them doing the things they would like to do during their time with their families. They are looking for a way to start their own businesses without investing huge amounts of cash or keeping inventory. They are looking for a team and ready-made resources that can help them grow their businesses. They are looking for residual income. . . a way to earn in the future off of today’s efforts.

They are looking for the solutions to these problems and they are finding them in network marketing.
