Is there a doctor in the house? ! Or a mom with lots of experience?
My neighbor came to me with a question about a funny metallic taste in her mouth.
The only correlation to length of time was the pollen season…and the fact that she may
have some sinus infection thing going on to cause it….is there anything else that might be
causing it. She cannot tell if it is making her breath bad, and my nose is stuffy and I could not tell her myself! Thanks for any consideration you can offer this matter.
She is not employed, again, and has no health insurance so can’t afford to
see a doc. That won’t be a helpful suggestion at this point.
A metallic taste in the mouth can be due to a variety of causes, a side effect of many medications to dental problems. With the absence of any other symptoms, it is unlikely it is caused by any serious illness. I would first look at any medications she might be taking.
What is this metallic taste when coughing and bad chest pain?
I got sick about a month ago, and the sore throat, stuff nose and everything cleared up in about 2 weeks accept my cough and shortness of breath.
The cough started out with just phlegm, but as of the last few days i have a metallic taste in my mouth every time i cough and it is getting stronger and worse. I don’t see blood though? My chest is also hurting and I have asthma.
This taste is making me irritated and sick. and I’m sick of being sick. The taste is so strong i have to drink something after wards for it to leave my mouth because i hate it.
Its Saturday and my office isn’t open to call, and I work all week. Any ideas what it is
If you`re coughing very hard it may be blood. Just because you don`t see it doesn`t mean that there isn`t any. But you might want to get it checked out just in case.
