recovering from the type a flu and having breathing problems?

I’m a 21 year old girl with asthma, and friday I was diagnosed with the flu…I haven’t had a fever today or yesterday, but my respiratory symptoms seem to be getting worse. I’ve been wheezing nonstop, despite taking prednisone and using my inhaler OFTEN. I can’t take a deep breath without going into a coughing fit. My cough is high pitched, kinda wheezy, takes my breath away, and hurts. My back and chest hurt really bad, and I’m coughing up stuff that’s been anything from white to yellow to having a few pink specks in it. I’ve still got some other symptoms too, but what I’m wondering is, is this all from the flu? Or could I be developing something else and if so what? Any treatment I can do at home?

It sounds like you may have bronchitis in addition to the flu:

Bronchitis is a respiratory disease in which the mucous membrane in the lungs’ bronchial passages becomes inflamed. As the irritated membrane swells and grows thicker, it narrows or shuts off the tiny airways in the lungs, resulting in coughing spells accompanied by thick phlegm and breathlessness. The disease comes in two forms: acute (lasting less than 6 weeks) and chronic (reoccurring frequently for more than two years). In addition, people with asthma also experience an inflammation of the lining of the bronchial tubes called asthmatic bronchitis.

If you have bronchitis you should do the following:

* Drink fluids every one to two hours unless your doctor has restricted your fluid intake

* Rest

* Relieve body aches by taking aspirin or acetaminophen. (If you are taking any other drugs, talk to your doctor to make sure aspirin or acetaminophen doesn’t interfere with them. Children should NOT take aspirin.)

* Follow your doctor’s instructions on ways to help clear your mucus.

* If you are coughing up mucus, note how often you cough as well as the color and amount of the mucus. Report this to your doctor.

are there any home remedies to treat thrush in your mouth>?

my tongue has got like a filmy whitish grayish on it and i can’t rid of my bad breath! i have a weak immune system, so i am pretty sure that i have thrush! i have no money right now to go to the doctor so are there any home remedies for treatment???? help!!!!

avoid coffee
try water and salt (not freezing cold water but normal water)
try some ginger- boil it then drink and gargle with the water
try a peppermint
this really works boil some tea in a teapot and put some fresh mint leaves in it let it boil until the leaves have gone a dullish black brown colour then drink it- it will be good for your throat and should hopefully stop the bad breathe

Good Luck
