What is the best home remedy for doggie breath?
I have a 5 year old poopom and her breath is so bad even the cat, who is bigger and badder hides. I have tried every known product but nothing works. We love Brandy very much but a face to face is impossible. Can anyone HELP?
The best thing for doggie breath is making sure her teeth and gums are healthy by having a vet check every 6 months. There are products on the market that will aid in your brushing your dog’s teeth, but if you don’t feel confident enough to do that, the next best thing is to find a vet that cleans dogs’ teeth.
Some home remedies include: feeding your dog only fresh dry dog food, no people food and no soft food. The best way to get to this point without starving the dog is to gradually wean the dog off of the soft foods and onto dry food. If her gums or teeth are too far gone for dry food only, then you will need to discuss with your vet the best plan of action to take for the sake of your dog’s dental health. Giving your dog an occasional bone will also help. Make sure it is a safe bone, no chicken nor pork bones that will shatter and splinter! Make sure the bone is large enough that the dog won’t swallow it whole either. There are some really good nyla bones and other products like it that are suppose to help with breath issues.
Bottom line is that if your dog has really bad breath, that speaks volumes about her general health. It really is a problem that needs to be addressed with your vet.
Does anyone know a home remedy to get rid of my dog’s bad breath?
