I am 59 yrs. old, diabetic and have high blood pressure. At times, I get shortness of breath & chest pain. WHY
The condition is often worst after a meal. If I walk for few minutes, the chest tightens up, get pain up both arms and I have to stop or sit for few minutes. Afraid to ask the doctor. How bad is this situation. Note: some days, I am just fine and can walk for hours and climb stairs with no problem.
As a diabetic you should be advised to eat several small meals a day. Hopefully you are following a good diabetic diet. Walking after meals is great, however you should wait til your food had digested at least 30 minutes before walking.
The chest pain and SOB may be caused from your high Bp.Regular check-up with your Dr is required on a monthly basis. keep a diary of your Bp readings and show your Dr each visit along with your diabetic glucose readings as well.
I am concerned about the chest pains, your cholesterol may be up as well, could cause Angina which is a dull ache in the chest almost feeling like contraction pain in the heart. Please discuss this with the Dr next visit. if you experience these symptoms more than usual if could be more than just hypertension. Are you on medications for diabetes and hypertension? What is your weight and your height? if you don’t mind.
Diabetic and have really bad cold what is good for it?
I am a diabetic and cand take alot of medicines ,Im not coughing very much but I have sneezed until I am so sore I cant stand it,Its been 3 days now and everytime I breath through my nose it burns and then I have a sneezing spell.I have to sleep with a c-pap machine because of severe sleep apnea so I have to breath through my nose.I cant breath laying down without my machine,Im taking benedryl it help some and dries up my runny nose and watery eyes and helps with the sneezing but not a whole lot. What else can I do to stop sneezing or am I just gonna have to wear it off?
If you use a humidifier on your CPAP, be sure to clean the humidifier and hoses daily. I put a little hydrogen peroxide in my humidifier to help keep it clean. this helps some. you might want to change the filter on the flow generator.
You can also smear some vapor-rub on an index card and put it about 6 inches away from the air filter on the flow generator. don’t put it any closer, as the compressed air can concentrate the fumes too much.
