Asking your dentist about it can only help. Sometimes bad breath can be a symptom of some disease or illness, so it’s best to be sure about it before it gets worse. http://www.themouthdoctor.com/badbreath/11-badbreathdisease.htm has some list of bad breath causes you can check on about. Hope it helps!
Can I become a musician without a proper musical training?
Last year I decided to attend piano lessons, and found out that I really enjoy it and do well. Besides, I can write lyrics for songs which are different from others (maybe in Nightwih-style, I don’t copy them, I just express my feelings, emotions and attitude through my lyrics and it turns out quite well). My voice isn’t bad as well, though my problem is weak lungs, I come out of breath if I try to sing more advanced songs.
So I started considering a mucic-related career, but I’ve never attended a real musical school. Could I still become a composer? Of course, I’d continue my piano lessons, and I study musical theory individually.
Yes, you can be a musician without ‘proper’ musical training. I do however have a few thoughts about the preparation for careers in the arts: music; dance; writing, painting, etc.
1. If you have a real Passion; love it; dream it; live it: then do it!
2. Practice; practice, practice. I once saw an interview with Fred Astaire. He was a famous dancer and did some singing too in movies of the 1930-1940s and later. He said that he practiced 8 hours a day at dancing. I learned a lot from those words of wisdom from a very talented man. Technique and creativity go hand in hand. In an interview with Hemingway he said he wrote EVERYDAY. So you see what I mean: Play your music. Write your songs: Train your voice, exercise and so on.
3. Continue your piano lessons and continue to study music theory individually. In the USA they have community colleges that are inexpensive and many have courses in music. You could explore those. You are never too old to start a new career or hobby.
4. Speak with musicians and singers from every kind of musical style. Don’t forget children’s music too. There is a lot of crap out there for kids, so maybe you could improve that. Many rockers are classically trained!
5. Weak lungs can in many cases be trained up with voice lessons and physical training and physical education classes. If you have asthma or something like that, moving to a better climate may actually help you breathe better. I live for the time being in Scandinavia. We went to the Canary islands and my husband had no breathing problems for the two weeks we were gone! It is something to think about anyway.
6. Good luck and have fun. You are lucky to find something you like.
