I would like to try and help you if I can.
Are you sure that the doctor said that it was mesothelioma? and he did not say that he was doing the biopsy to check for mesothelioma?
Or have you definitely had the biopsy results and they have confirmed mesothelioma?
As pleural effusion can be caused by other conditions as well as mesothelioma.
You must be feeling very afraid and confused – you may email me with more details if you like.
Kind regards,
Ann.
A lot of coughing and shortness of breath and antibiotics didn’t do anything?
about three weeks ago i went to the doctor because i was having trouble breathing and i cough up mucus all the time. they gave me an inhaler, (which i’ve been using lately but it doesn’t help at all) so i don’t think i have asthma. they also gave me antibiotics because i had a little pneumonia. they helped for a while but now i feel even worse than before., my biggest symptom is shortness of breath…in school walking to classes i can’t breathe good at all. so i end up coughing really hard and my stomache cramps up, sometimes i throw up because the coughing is making me. i still cough up this yellowish mucus, mostly in the morning. what is still wrong with me, do you think? i know my mom is gonna make me another dr.’s appt….
by the way, i’m 14 and i don’t smoke.could it be lung cancer?
No, it’s not lung cancer. It’s definitely some kind of infection that the antibiotics didn’t take care of. Make sure your mom makes that appointment for you asap! Hope you feel better very soon!
