ok well my breath has been smelling awful like poop for days and im getting nasty white balls from my mouth and they stink awful i cheked if i have post nasal drip i think i do but i dnt have a sore throat or nothing its just my bad breathe ive been having this for a week now im scared i dont want it how can i get rid of it

Is it normal to have trouble breathing and swawllowing 2 days after choking?

2 nights ago I choked on a large piece of chicken breast. don’t even ask me how I managed that. It completely obstructed my airway and I eventually hacked it out while a friend hit me on the back. 2 days later, my throat still hurts twice as bad as strep throat ever did and it feels like there’s a ball in it moving every time I swallow. I feel slightly short of breath and grossly enough, I gag every so often attempting to talk or swallow. I don’t have health insurance and don’t want to pay hundreds of dollars to hear a doctor tell me it’ll go away on it’s own. someone please tell me it will, for free.

Eat some soft foods for a while. Bananas, rice, applesauce, etc. You “scratched” your throat or esophagus and it will take a few days for it to heal.

Now, that being said, there is one condition that you need to be aware of. That is Boerhaave’s Disease. Usually if is caused by forcefull vomiting. That causes a complete tear in the esophagus. The esophagus lies right behind the heart and so an infection can develop that could end up being lif-threatening. Open chest surgery will be required to clean out the infection and save the heart. So if the pain does not subside or gets steadily worse AND if you develop a fever, then get medical attention immediately!
