Bad Breath And Sinus

My boyfriend suddenly has bad breath. What could be causing this?
Everybody gets bad breath now and then – I know that. He brushes his teeth like he should. In the last month or so, his ‘bad breath’ has changed. He calls it ‘old man breath.’ He was on steroids for awhile for sinus problems, though he’s off them now and the breath continues…just wondering what could be causing this. Only serious answers please.
It’s most likely the gums. Has he been to a dentist at least yearly?
Otherwise there might have been a change in his diet, which means it could be coming from inside out of him and not just his mouth.
He should get it checked out, as gum disease can lead to more serious problems and we only get one set of adult teeth.
How can I get rid of my bad breath?
I brush my teeth twice a day, floss, use mouth rinse, brush my tongue, and see a dentist regularly. I think it may be because I often have sinus problems and I know that can result in bad breath. Any tips on how keep my breath fresh for long periods of time? -please don’t say use gum, tic-tacs, altoids, etc. Thanks a lot!
